An air fried oyster is a delicious and healthier alternative to traditional deep-fried oysters. It is a dish that combines the crispy texture of fried oysters with the convenience and health benefits of air frying. Ingredients
- 16 oz of Fresh or Packaged Fresh Oysters
- 1 cup of Plain Panko Breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp of Spicelopedia® Italian Lemon Pepper Seasoning
- 1 large Egg, beaten
- 1/4 cups of Buttermilk, light
- 1/3 cups of All Purpose Flour
- Lemon slices
- Avocado Oil Cooking Spray (coat fryer basket)
Procedures
Step One
Preheat air fryer to 400 degrees.
Step Two
If oysters are in shell, shuck. Pat oysters dry with paper towel.
Step Three
Mix the breadcrumbs with the seasoning.
Step Four
Add egg to buttermilk to the same bowl. Whisk to combine.
Step Five
Add Flour to a third bowl.
Step Six
Dip oyster into the egg and buttermilk mixture, shake off excess.
Step Seven
Dip oyster into the flour. Shake off excess.
Step Eight
Dip oyster into the Panko, seasoning mixture. Press the breadcrumbs into the oyster.
Step Nine
Repeat until all oysters are coated.
Step Ten
Spray air fryer basket with Avocado Oil Cooking Spray.
Step Eleven
Add oysters to basket. Air-fry for 4 minutes. Flip and continue to cook for 3-4 minutes more until oysters are golden brown.
Step Twelve
As soon as the oysters come out of the air fryer, suggest sprinkling them with a little lemon juice. Serve additional lemon on the side.
Suggestion
like to serve this with tartar sauce, with sides of collard greens and cauliflower-bacon mac and cheese.
