A pulled pork sandwich is a popular dish made with slow-cooked, tender pork that is shredded or "pulled" and served on a bun. It is a classic comfort food that is loved by many.
- 4 lbs of Pork Butt
- 2 tbsp of Spicelopedia® Southwest Zesty Fiesta Seasoning
- Salt and Pepper
- 1 tbsp of Olive Oil
- 1, 12 oz can of Beer of Choice (alcoholic or non-alcoholic)
- 1, can of Chopped Green Chilies
- 2 Brioche Buns each
- 1 cup crumbles of Queso Fresco
- 2 cups of Crispy Onion Rings
- Chips and Cole Slaw (optional)
Trim any excess fat off the pork butt. Place the butt in a stainless bowl and rub it with olive oil, salt and pepper, and Spicelopedia seasoning.
Place the pork in a crock pot or slow cooker. Add the can of beer and green chilis to the pot. Cook on low or for 7-8 hours or until the pork butt easily falls apart.
When the pork is done remove it from the pot and into a bowl. Shred the meat with two forks. Adjust the seasoning, adding more if needed.
Remove as much liquid fat off the top of the gravy as possible. Use the gravy as a side for dipping the sandwich.
To assemble the pulled pork sandwich first heat or toast the roll.
Place 1 cup of the pulled pork on the roll. Top the pork with crumbled queso and crispy onion pieces.
Serve with spicy potato chips and slaw.
Remember, the key to a delicious pulled pork sandwich is using high-quality ingredients and taking the time to slow cook the pork to perfection. With the addition of queso fresco and crispy onions, you'll elevate this classic dish to a whole new level of flavor and satisfaction.
