Key West crab cakes are a delightful seafood dish that combines the flavors of fresh crab meat with a variety of ingredients. To make these delicious crab cakes, heres what you will need.
- 1 lb of Lump Crab Meat
- 2 tsp of Spicelopedia® Chili Lime Adobo Seasoning
- 1 Large Egg, beaten
- 1/4 cups of Breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp of Red Bell Pepper, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp of Sweet onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp of Key Lime Juice
- 2 tbsp of Olive Oil
- Key Lime Wedges
Drain crab, pick through for shells.
Add to mixing bowl along with Chili Lime Seasoning, egg, breadcrumbs, bell pepper, onion, and lemon juice.
Preheat heavy skillet.
Add oil to pan.
Cook crab cakes over medium heat, turning once until golden brown.
Suggestion: Plate over lettuce. Add a dash of the seasoning at the end to make the recipe pop. Serve with lemon wedges.
Change it up: Add a dash of plain rice vinegar or garlic rice vinegar before serving.
Alternative Method: You can also bake them in the oven on a cookie sheet using parchment paper. Remove pan to turn cakes. Drizzle a little olive oil at the end.
