Chili Lime Seared Ahi Tuna Recipe

These fresh tuna steaks are meticulously marinated in a tantalizing spicy chili sauce, infusing them with a fiery kick from our Spicelopedia™ Chili Lime Adobo seasoning. Ingredients
- 2 Ahi or Yellowfin Tuna steaks

2 tsp. plus 2 tsp. Spicelopedia™ Chili Lime Adobo seasoning
- 2 Tbsp. Thai-style chili sauce
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp. plus 3 Tbsp. olive oil
- 2 Tbsp. fresh chopped cilantro
Directions
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together 2 tsp. Spicelopedia™ Chili Lime Adobo seasoning, Thai-style chili sauce, soy sauce, and 3 Tbsp. olive oil. Add tuna steaks and coat all sides well with the marinade. Refrigerate for ½ to 1 hour.
- Heat a 10-12 inch skillet on medium high heat. When the pan is hot add 3 Tbsp. olive oil. Remove the tuna from the marinade and coat both sides evenly with 2 tsp. Spicelopedia™ Chili Lime Adobo.
- Sear the tuna on one side for 3 minutes. Turn the steaks over and cook for 2-3 minutes longer, (temperature will be approximately 115 degrees F). Garnish with fresh chopped cilantro.
Recipe Note
Serve with white rice and cucumber salad. This can also be thinly sliced and serve as an appetizer or on a salad.
